Louise Coningsby

It is with great sadness that Christian Distinctives announce the news that Louise has been called to be with the God whom she loved and served so deeply and passionately.

She died on Monday August 16th at home in London, with her family around her, after a courageous journey with cancer over the last 3 years.

Her faith and reliance on God to heal her sustained her through the years since diagnosis and especially these last few months of failing health.

Here are her own words less than a month ago. "The view is magnificent, but there is more effort in daily putting one foot in front of the other. The goal: the peak: God being glorified in my life. The future: celebration. Then coming down the mountain to get on with fresh things God has for me on earth or I guess being "airlifted" to heaven!"

It was Louise's own clear wish and decision that only those closest to her knew about her health situation.

As Christians we can celebrate when God calls a saint to be with him in eternity but in Christian Distinctives, we feel a deep sense of loss as Louise was such a pivotal part of the organisation.

In line with her stated life aims, she said of herself:

"She is passionate about prayer and seeing current and future generations of leaders reach their full potential."

In 2000 she was one of the founder members of Christian Distinctives and then served on the board of Trustees and until very recently was also part of the Operations Team.

She worked tirelessly with others, to bring the organisation to life and in her inimitable way, had every detail covered. Some of her many strengths included regular reviewing and tuning of the strategic direction and focussed investment in relationships to bring interested parties into the vision of Christian organisations and churches moving towards greater excellence.

As part of the ongoing legacy Louise left us, join us in the journey to support and challenge Christian organisations towards greater excellence.
